Amanda Pancherz
Head of Sudbury Operations and Contact Centre Solutions

“I have been with Prolog since 1994 and have had a variety of roles in customer relationship management. I have proven ability to quickly identify critical customer business needs before initiating commercial and operational solutions. I utilise strong communication and implementation skills to transform vision and strategy into a high performance multi-channel reality.

I am passionate about exceeding client expectations whilst maintaining focus on key business goals.”

Senior Warehouse Operative

"I run the scanning and put wall areas in Phase 3, where we handle retail and customer orders for Cotton Traders. I manage staff, moving them about to make sure they're where I need them at the right moment. Pickers and putters all wear headsets and we use a warehouse control system to send them messages.

Part of my job is to act as back up the first line manager team, so if I have to run a shift I can step up. It's also my job to take care of new staff and teach them how to pick and how to put.

I like the people I work with and I enjoy my job. There's something different every day and we're so busy, I love it."

Nick Hoare
Operations Director

"I’ve worked in logistics for 30 years and have been at Prolog since the beginning of 2018. I have responsibility for a number of warehouses, with a team at each site running the day-to-day activity.

I’m responsible for the operational elements of the business, including warehouse operations and transport elements, such as dealing with parcel carriers.

I work with our clients to make sure we understand what they (and their customers) want, and that we provide what they need, always delivering best value.

A lot of my role is about working with people, understanding how we can get the best out of each individual, providing them with the skills and tools to do their job well.

I believe people come to work at Prolog to do a really good job – as a management team we enable them to do that, and that’s what makes the company successful."

Neil Daniells
Managing Director

"As MD, primarily I’m responsible for implementing company policy and any changes to it. I ensure that our company strategy is geared towards achieving our aims of growth and profit.

I also lead, coach and mentor other board members and the Senior Management Team, supporting their professional development and working alongside them to identify operational performance measures.

There’s no such thing as a typical day as an MD - each day brings new challenges in the logistics industry, but also lots of opportunities for us to achieve great results.

Working with the team to achieve those results is not only a key part of my role, it’s also one of the aspects I enjoy the most."

Analyst Programmer

"I joined Prolog in 2005 - I actually started in our Contact Centre then moved into the IT department. In the IT team we work on many different jobs; I work on our in-house software Fusion.

The day-to-day job depends on our clients, as they all have different requirements. Sometimes they require something new developing, or they want to enhance existing processes.

In the case of a new development, we analyse what would be required, asking for any extra information. Once we get the go-ahead, if there's a fixed deadline, we make sure we deliver within the timescale."

Holly Trueman
Contract Manager

"I’m the main contact for my client and  I’m also in charge of their dedicated warehouse and the staff who work there.

My job involves making sure the client is happy, that the operation is running smoothly, that reporting is on time and accurate, and that the customer service team is working effectively.

I hold monthly review meetings with the client where we talk about how we’re going to grow the account together. I also feed information back to the operations team and take the lead on implementing changes and new initiatives.

Prolog’s really helped me to develop my career; I enjoy working with the people here and I like that we have the opportunity to make a difference.”

Karen Gent
Account Manager

"I joined Prolog in 2003 as part of the account management team, where I have worked across all sectors of the business: commercial, point of sale and government accounts.

My current role is within the government account management team where I manage the team. My daily tasks are varied and cover client meetings, reporting, invoicing, budgets, and forecasting. Building relationships with the clients and internally within the operation is a vital part of the role. The structured way of working on the government accounts is very different to the fast pace of a commercial account.

I enjoy the variety that each day brings, as each email or telephone call presents a new challenge and opportunity."

General Manager

"I’m the General Manager for two of our warehouses, one is at our Manton Wood site where we look after clients’ point of sale; collating kits of printed items for onward distribution to client sites.

My role is focused on the shaping and delivery of our overall strategy. I’m always looking for innovations, working closely with clients to make sure we’re always providing the best solution for their needs.

I’ve been in this industry more than 20 years but I still learn something new every day and I look forward to that. Prolog has changed my life; it’s the first company that I feel has really believed in me, and I’ve reached a level here that I never thought I’d achieve."

Facilities, Health and Safety Manager

"I’m responsible for maintaining all of Prolog’s sites. It’s a diverse role, ranging from organising repairs for warehouse machinery, to looking after the ponds in our grounds.

Managers report any health and safety concerns to me because it’s my responsibility to make sure everyone’s safe within Prolog’s buildings; staff, clients and visitors. I’m helped by an assistant and a maintenance team of five.

I’m responsible for overseeing the creation of risk assessments and safe systems of work, for carrying out health and safety inductions for new staff, and for organising the external training for fire wardens and first aiders.

Having always worked in health and safety, I’ve found it really interesting getting more involved in the facilities side of things."

Claire Gilbey Image

Head of Finance

"I look after Prolog’s Finance and HR departments – I have a team of eight finance people, and two in the HR team.

We look after the payroll and management accounts, making sure invoices and purchase orders are raised and that we get debts in and pay our suppliers. I’m also responsible for recruitment and ongoing HR matters.

My role also involves collating finance and HR information, ready for our board meetings, so that the directors can make informed decisions about the business.

I like getting to see what’s happening across the business, from customer growth and supplier relationships developing, to employee journeys.

I’ve never met a more friendly, helpful and open bunch of people. Prolog is somewhere you want to come and work, and it’s the people who make it feel that way."

Training and Quality Manager

"Along with my training team, I’m responsible for training every member of staff across the business on everything from inductions and management training, to any ad hoc training needed.

When I’m not delivering training, I design and build content – there are always new clients and new requirements to plan for. We carry out quality checks for line managers to make sure one-to-ones and appraisals are being done correctly, helping everyone to develop.

I’ve been lucky to have worked in a lot of different countries. This has given me so many life experiences that I use to help me connect with the people I’m training.

I really love what I do – it’s great to watch someone succeed because of the training you’ve given them. I love my role, there aren’t many jobs where you get to meet and work with every single person in the company and watch them all grow."

Onward Sale and Contracts Manager

"I work for Prolog as the company’s Transport Manager; I joined the company in December 2014.

I currently have an Assistant Transport Manager and five clerks who assist in the collection and delivery operation for the company. We operate from two main sites, Sherwood Park and Sudbury, and use the Manton Wood site on a daily basis for inter-depot transfers of stock.

My main areas of responsibility are the smooth and compliant management of the transport operation, with particular attention on maintaining budgets. I also source extra work for the non- contract side of the transport operation which I have set up since joining the business.

We have a varied, modern and dealer-maintained fleet and we operate a number of vehicles to suit all types of customer, from 3.5t sprinter vans and 7.5t vehicles, to 44t tractor units."

Stuart Greenfield Image

Head of Business Development

"I predominantly work on the ecommerce fulfilment side of the business, heading up all new sales. My role involves sourcing and engaging with potential new clients as well as liaising with existing clients, working with the account management team to maximise revenue.

Working in a sales role means I attend trade shows, visit clients at their premises, and arrange for them to come and visit our campus. I also put together pricing and solution proposals for providing potential clients with warehousing and fulfilment services.

There’s a great team here at Prolog, and world-class warehousing infrastructure. When we invite potential clients here and show them around, they’re blown away by the scale and quality of what we do."

Stuart Wymant Image
Stuart Wymant
Contact Centre Manager

I oversee our multi-client, multi-channel contact centre - we manage campaigns via calls, email, webchat, and social media platforms. My role is to manage our people to ensure we hit all client contractual SLAs.

No day is the same; I might be liaising with my senior management team about operational performance, managing internal projects, or identifying opportunities for new or existing clients.

Most of my career so far has been working for a large corporate telecommunication provider, so the outsourced multi-client approach here is something new for me. The challenging, ever-changing environment is a great motivator for me.

Since joining in July 2017 my role has changed – I was originally appointed as a Senior Team Manager before being promoted to Contact Centre Manager. That’s one of the great things about working at Prolog – it’s a small community environment so you can come in, make an impression, and help shape the company’s future.
