Raising glasses by the million to Word Cup fever

For the millions of soccer fans cramming Britain’s pubs and clubs for next month’s FIFA World Cup, there’s a very good chance that the glasses they’ll be raising to their team’s success will have been put there by POS fulfilment specialist, Prolog.
With some of the UK’s best-known drinks labels on its books, Prolog is distributing well over four million branded glassware items in time for World Cup fever on June 11.
“Once the only drink in its own glass was Guinness, but that’s not true today,” said Prolog Transport and Logistics Director Peter Ray. “The big brewery companies are introducing branded glasses across their range, and with ever more eye catching designs, and that’s great news for Prolog.”
Prolog is the UK’s leading POS fulfilment provider for the licensed trade, and in the run-up to major soccer events like the World Cup, the pressure is on to complete often complex and sometimes bizarre collations.
“We’re never surprised about what we are asked to handle. We’ve even put goal posts into supermarkets in the past,” added Ray. “We can’t predict this year’s winning team, but we can say that when you drop into your local this summer, practically all the World Cup promo items on view will have been delivered by Prolog, from branded chillers to beer-mats, from pens to key-rings, even the t-shirts the bar staff are wearing.”
And it is not just pubs, Prolog’s road transport fleet has also been equipping the supermarkets with their World Cup POS items.
So whether you’re planning to pick up a six-pack from a Tesco or Somerfield chiller or enjoy a pint at the local, the chances are that Prolog has had a hand in the supply chain.
