A new dawn as Sir Bernard Audley and his son Robert Audley successfully buy back the £4 million turnover Suffolk-based business from Pergamon. They give it the name it carries today, Promotional Logistics Ltd. (trading as Prolog). Earlier in the year the company had moved into its current head offices on the Chilton Industrial Estate, Sudbury.

Prolog opens two additional warehouses, one at Sudbury and one at Haydock, bringing its combined footprint to almost 170,000 sq ft.

By now an established name in public sector outsourcing and among commercial blue chip brands, Prolog opens a fourth storage and distribution facility in Sudbury.

Prolog sets up its first ring-fenced contact centre near Watford in Hertfordshire. The site is only 30 minutes from Heathrow and the client is British Airways. Meanwhile work begins in the East Midlands on what is to become Prolog's showcase distribution hub.

Prolog opens a groundbreaking 136,000 sq ft facility (Caverswall House) at the prestigious Sherwood business park near Nottingham. For the first time it can demonstrate a fully integrated distribution and customer service in action - a model for future development. 1997 sees significant business gains in the public sector, and the signing of Prolog's first not-for-profit client. Yearly for the next four consecutive years, Prolog will commission a new combined storage and offices unit at Sherwood Park.

Phase 2 (Caulder House) opens at Sherwood Park. Awarded bonded status, the company is able to begin distribution of alcoholic drinks.

Prolog's mailing and lettershop capacity increases with the completion of Phase 3 (Chilton House) at Sherwood Park.

By now one of the UK's fastest growing oustsource companies, Prolog becomes a significant player in the burgeoning e-commerce arena with the commissioning of Phase 4 (Coniston House).

Sherwood Park sees the opening of Prolog's biggest single development to date - Phase 5 (Chadwick House), a massive 220,000 sq ft facility. In total Prolog's footprint has grown to more than 800,000 sq ft, the company employs 1000 permanent and part-time people and turnover is in excess of £32 million.

A boost for Prolog's capacity as provider of multi-channel customer contact with the commissioning of an entire new floor at Chilton House.

Prolog marks its entry into retail logistics with the commissioning in neighbouring Nottinghamshire of Phase 6 (Causway House) near Worksop. Unlike the dual-function Sherwood Park facilities, this is configured almost entirely for bulk storage and distribution. Also in 2003 Prolog opens a bespoke unit to provide Print on Demand.

Phase 8 at Sherwood Park (Cranmer House) becomes Prolog's most recent new build, culminating a decade of almost uninterrupted expansion in the East Midlands.

Prolog returns to its roots, setting out plans for a prestigious integrated Call Centre and warehousing development adjacent to the town where the company started out 27 years previously.

The renewal of Prolog's biggest government contract begins an outsourcing partnership with Communisis, the UK's leading print procurement and management company. Also this year Prolog becomes one of only ten independently managed service providers to be awarded the Contact Centre Association Global Standard.
